Freeride Team Stacking Podiums Early

With the Freeride World Tour about to kick off on February 9th in Vallnord-Arcalís, Andorra, we wanted to take a quick look back at the last month of dominance from our Freeride team at the Qualifying and Junior Tour levels.

Caite Zeliff got off to a fast start in Hakuba, Japan by winning the 2 Start Qualifier and then followed that up with a 2nd place finish in the 4 Star event, where she was joined on the podium by last year's overall 2nd Place World Tour finisher Jaclyn Paaso.

"Competing in the FWQ events in Japan were incredible! They were well run had very playful terrain and ridiculous amounts of snow! Getting multiple face shots in a competition was a blast! Getting two podiums under my belt early season has kickstarted my confidence and excitement heading into the rest of the competition season and I can't wait to get into that starting gate again."  --Caite Zeliff

Berkeley Patterson continued the winning ways in Canada with a win at the IFSA / FWT 4* Qualifier in Revelstoke. In extremely cold conditions, Berkeley was able to rize to the top of an incredibly stacked field.

"Stoked to be a part of such an incredible group of skiers! The riding level was at an all time high. Cannot wait for my upcoming comps and to see the next generation of big mountain riders continue to push the sport!"  --Berkeley Patterson

Just recently Elsa Smith got her 2017 campaign off to an amazing start by not only winning the Grand Targhee Big Mountain Collegiate Freeskiing Open, but also bagging the ever coveted Sick Bird Belt.

"Being in a whole new field of athletes who were older and most of who I've never met before definitely added a much different side to the competition, and not knowing what to expect made it super easy to push myself on both qualifiers and finals. Getting the W in Targhee against all these new, super shredders was really cool, and taking home the sickbird for my finals day air was just the icing on the cake- the hype and love coming from all competitors made it such an honor. Fired up for the rest of the season!"  --Elsa Smith

And lets not forget the Junior Freeride World Tour which recently held the Freeride Junior World Championships in Grandvalira-Andorra. We are very proud to annouce Olivia Askew the womens champion with Lorenzo Carbonatto taking home 3rd place in the men's competition.

Now we turn our eyes to the Freeride World Tour main event which kicks off this week. Please join us in following the 2016 Champions Loic Collomb Patton and Eva Walkner along with fellow team riders Jaclyn Paaso and Leo Slemett on their quest for the 2017 World Titles.

Congrats to everyone and best of luck the rest of the season!!
